Craniosynostosis: Metopic Synostosis
The metopic suture runs vertically in the middle of the forehead/front of the skull, aligned with the nose.
Trigonocephaly is a type of craniosynostosis in which the skull's metopic suture closes prematurely, resulting in a head shape that is somewhat flattened and triangular, with close-set eyes and a bony ridge from the nose to the forehead. This kind of craniosynostosis is less common than other forms.
