Staff
At International Craniofacial Institute, your family is our family. Because there are many "moving parts" when it comes to managing the cases of patients with craniofacial differences, it is critical to have a competent, experienced team handling appointments, patient treatment coordination, physician communication, insurance issues and ongoing family support. Our International Craniofacial Institute (ICI) staff has many years of experience in each of these areas, allowing us to work expertly together while treating each case on an individual basis.
Below, learn more about our office team.
Gwen
Financial/Insurance Coordinator
gwen@craniofacial.net
Gwen is our most experienced team member, beginning her career in the medical insurance field in 1981, and joining ICI in 2004. She gathers patient insurance information, verifies coverage/benefits and determines if a referral is required. Clarification of medical procedures, appeals following rejection of a claim, or slow payment by the insurer are all challenges Gwen handles. She knows how to navigate through the complex world of insurance and medical billing, and guides our patients with confidence.
Joni
Physician Assistant
joni@craniofacial.net
Our patients benefit from Joni's expertise, as she ensures their comfort and care—before, during and after procedures. Joni joins our doctors as they meet with patients to evaluate conditions and to formulate plans for treatment. She assists during surgery and follows-up with patients post-surgery. A graduate of the University of Texas in Austin, Joni earned her degree in Human Development and Family Sciences (with a minor in Biology). Joni received her PA-C (Physician Assistant Certified) from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. She joined our ICI team in 2010.
Juli
Practice Administrator
juli@craniofacial.net
Our most-tenured staff member, Juli has provided management support to our doctors, staff and patients since 1997. Her role involves understanding each team member’s goals and providing assistance as he/she works toward achieving them. She makes it a priority to maintain efficient and fluid processes to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for each patient and his or her loved ones. Juli hopes to make what may be a challenging time/situation as easy as possible for all involved. A graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, Juli earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance.
Kelly
Clinical Coordinator
k@craniofacial.net
Having joined our practice in 2002, Kelly plays a critical role interfacing with our patients and surgeons. As patients come through our offices, Kelly leads the way, guiding them through their visit and tracking vital information with regard to their care. She keeps detailed medical records so that important facts regarding diagnoses, treatment, surgeries, follow-up, etc., are accurate and easily accessed. Kelly knows that details make a difference and always works to provide the best care possible for our patients.
Kristi
New Patient Coordinator
kristi@craniofacial.net
Our first point of contact for new patients, Kristi knows families have questions and she is ready to equip them with information. She introduces new patients/parents to ICI, provides helpful guidance about care and treatment, and works with families to schedule office visits and follow-up team assessments. On the ICI team since 2003 in both clinical and administrative positions, Kristi anticipates what new patients require and makes sure we provide what they need.
Kristin
Media and Patient Relations Director
kristin@craniofacial.net
New to the medical field, Kristin joined the ICI team in May 2009. With a varied background, she is currently responsible for information and activities to further patient education and increase public awareness of craniofacial differences and ICI. Kristin handles marketing and public relations, creates promotional and educational materials, and provides management and content for ICI websites and patient communications.
Michelle
Executive Assistant to Dr. Genecov
mmeulman@craniofacial.net
Michelle began her career with ICI in 1993. After a hiatus due to an out-of-state move in 1999, Michelle rejoined the ICI team in 2004. Having held previous positions as our Front Office Coordinator, Surgery Coordinator, and New Patient Coordinator, Michelle is now Executive Assistant to ICI Director, Dr. Genecov. She provides administrative support and coordination, ensuring Dr. Genecov's objectives are carried out across the practice. In executing this key role, Michelle enables Dr. Genecov to optimize his focus on patients and their treatment.
Natalie
Front Office Coordinator
natalie@craniofacial.net
The first voice you'll hear when you contact ICI will be Natalie's. She makes sure you get connected with the information and/or person you need. She'll also be the first face to greet you when you visit our offices. Natalie helps patients with appointments and paperwork and handles medical records. An important part of our team, Natalie joined ICI on a part-time basis in 2004 and then began working with us full-time in 2005. Natalie also provides translation for our Spanish-speaking patient families.
Sandra
Surgery Coordinator
sandra@craniofacial.net
With ICI since 2006, Sandra joined our team after coordinating Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital surgeries for eight years. She works with families to not only schedule the date for surgery but to also coordinate any testing and appointments needed prior to surgery. By working through the process to make sure surgery can begin smoothly, Sandra hopes to ease the stress and worries families may be experiencing. Sandra also speaks Spanish, which is often very helpful in our offices.
