Dr. Barceló was born in Queretaro, Mexico in 1956, graduated with honors from the University of Guadalajara School of Medicine in 1980.
He completed his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1986 at the Jalisco Institute for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, University of Guadalajara. In 1988 he became board certified by the Mexican board of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive surgery and joined the faculty of the Institute in Guadalajara as Assistant Professor. From 1993 to 1999 he was Associate Professor of this program which was particularly dedicated to general reconstructive and cleft surgery.
Attracted by the complexity of Craniofacial Surgery and the benefits that it offers to the patients and their families, he completed an ACGME craniofacial fellowship with the World Craniofacial Foundation from 2001 to 2004, at Medical City Dallas Hospital. During this time he participated in multiple complex craniofacial reconstruction cases where his creativity earned him an invitation to become part of the International Craniofacial Institute as a partner.
He has lectured at multiple national and international meetings and participates actively as a Visiting Professor.
Dr. Barceló is the former secretary of the Mexican Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and is an active member of ASMS (American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons), AMCPER (Mexican Society of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery) and IPRAS (International Confederation of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery).
Currently, he serves as Medical Advisor for the World Craniofacial Foundation.
Dr. Barceló's areas of expertise include facial aesthetic and reconstructive surgery including functional and aesthetic Rhinology and all craniomaxillofacial procedures, in particular clefts and orthognathic surgery.

After finishing his undergraduate degree with honors at the University of Texas, Dr. Genecov completed his medical training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Upon completion of his general surgery residency at West Virginia University, Dr. Genecov became board certified in general surgery. He continued his education by receiving basic craniofacial surgery within his plastic surgery education at Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem with Dr. Louis Argenta. There he completed his plastic surgery residency. Subsequent to this, he was selected as a fellow to train under Dr. Kenneth Salyer at the International Craniofacial Institute. Upon completion of his fellowship, Dr. Genecov was asked to become a permanent member of our international craniofacial team of surgeons in 1998. Dr. Genecov has lectured throughout the nation on all aspects of craniomaxillofacial, plastic and reconstructive surgery. Widely published in both national and international literature, Dr. Genecov has also authored four medical book chapters.
Dr. Genecov's interests include craniofacial surgery, especially distraction osteogenesis, ear reconstruction, and the treatment of patients with cleft lip and palate. In addition, Dr. Genecov has a strong background in cosmetic surgery and will continue to involve himself in clinical practice and research involving cosmetic surgery of the face and body. Dr. Genecov has hospital appointments at Medial City Dallas and Medical City of Plano. He is a member of the Cleft Lip and Palate Craniofacial Association, Texas Medical Society and Dallas County Medical Society. In addition to research projects in bone regeneration, synthetic bone substitutes, and stem cell bone formation, Dr. Genecov continues philanthropic work through the World Craniofacial Foundation and is involved with programs to bring pediatric plastic surgery care to both Russia and Romania.
Dr. Genecov received advanced training in ear reconstruction for cases of microtia/anotia using the Japanese two-stage technique as designed by Dr. Saforo Nagata. Dr. Genecov accomplished this technique under the direction of Dr. Nagata and his protégé, Dr. Akira Yamada.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Genecov is also an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a Delegate to the American Medical Association from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

He received his M.D. degree in 1962 from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City and performed his residency training in general surgery at ParklandMemorialHospital in Dallas, TX. He completed a surgical fellowship at the University of TX Southwestern School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, and performed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine on an award received from the National Institutes of Health.
In 1969 Dr. Salyer became the Chairman of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of TX Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. He held this position for nearly ten years and attained an academic ranking of full professor. Currently he is an adjunct professor at the Department of Orthodontics of Baylor School of Dentistry, A Member of TX A&M System and clinical professor in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of TX Health Science Center at San Antonio, TX.
Dr. Salyer entered private practice in 1979 but has continued to maintain his commitment to research and teaching regarding the treatment of cleft lip and palate, bone replacement and regeneration and craniofacial anomalies and has made an active contribution to academic and research activities in the field. He has been the director of one of the leading fellowship training programs in craniofacial surgery for the past 20 years.
Dr. Salyer established the International Craniofacial Institute in Dallas in 1986. To the present, over 8,000 patients from 72 countries and every state in the U.S. have been treated in Dallas. His personal operations have now totaled over 16,000 surgical procedures. He has contributed over 175 peer-reviewed scientific articles and chapters in the scientific literature. He has co-authored 7 books and is the co-author of a two-volume color ATLAS of Craniofacial and Cleft Surgery published in 1999. As a world-renowned surgeon, Dr. Salyer had given over 750 presentations at national and international congresses. He is a member of 50 national and international professional societies and has been in many leadership roles in many of these organizations. He is a founding member and current President of the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery, past chairman of the Plastic Surgery Research Council, past chairman of the American
Academy of Pediatrics Section of Plastic Surgery, past president of the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons and immediate past president of the American Society of Craniofacial Surgery.
