Interests, Techniques, and Training
Chelsea Snider, MD, is a board certified experienced pediatric craniofacial surgeon at The International Craniofacial Institute in Dallas, Texas. She provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care to infants and children who have congenital or acquired anomalies of the head, face, and body. She completed her plastic surgery residency at the top-ranked University of Southern Illinois Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program where she developed a passion for craniofacial surgery. She pursued this calling by completing the prestigious pediatric craniofacial fellowship at The Craniofacial Center in Dallas, Texas to undergo extensive training where she refined her skills for treating various complex craniofacial conditions. She specializes in craniofacial surgery including cleft lip and palate repair, craniosynostosis repair, treatment of head shape abnormalities, ear molding and reconstruction, upper and lower jaw surgery, rhinoplasty and nose reconstruction.
Writing and Speaking
Dr. Snider has authored numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and book chapters in leading textbooks relating to craniofacial surgery. Additionally, she has presented research and spoken on topics at national and international meetings. Dr. Snider stays actively involved with cleft lip and palate mission work, using her love of craniofacial surgery to help children from around the world. Dr. Snider has most recently provided cleft care in Malawi, Africa, Manila and the Philippines.
Education
After growing up in Santa Barbara, California, she moved to the East Coast and earned her Doctor of Medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. Afterward, she completed her residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois. Dr. Snider completed the pediatric craniofacial fellowship at The Craniofacial Center here in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Snider is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, an exclusive medical honor society, and has received many awards for academic excellence in research. She continues to stay up to date in the latest research and is actively involved in projects related to cleft lip and palate, facial anatomy, craniofacial anomalies, as well as techniques and strategies related to complex craniofacial surgeries.

When she’s not at work, Dr. Snider enjoys the outdoors and loves to spend time with family, traveling, hiking, surfing, and skiing. She is married to Dr. Guilherme Barreiro and has two energetic sons. Dr. Snider is actively involved in global mission work, using her love of craniofacial surgery to help children around the world.
