Craniofacial Fellowship Position

The International Craniofacial Institute at Medical City Dallas is offering a one-year fellowship in adult and pediatric surgery beginning August 1, 2023. Our practice has a storied history and unique presence, having treated over 26,000 patients from all 50 states and over 30 countries.

This fellowship includes training in the full spectrum of cleft lip and palate surgery, from infancy through adulthood. This includes prenatal counseling, cleft lip and palate repair, velopharyngeal dysfunction, alveolar bone graft, jaw distraction, orthognathic surgery, and cleft rhinoplasty.

Craniosynostosis and other craniofacial conditions are treated at primary presentation, as well as secondary reconstruction and long-term follow-ups for adults.

Please see our website for more information about other conditions treated, including microtia and ear molding, Parry Romberg syndrome, craniofacial microsomia, fibrous dysplasia, facial palsy, vascular anomalies, and congenital nevi.

There is latitude in the fellowship for exposure to comprehensive plastic surgery, including aesthetic surgery (facelift, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, etc.), breast and body contouring, and cancer and trauma reconstruction. Exposure to other practices at Medical City Dallas is available as well. This includes other craniofacial practices, and microsurgical breast and lymphatic reconstruction.

Scholarly activity is offered but not required. No residents are involved, so surgical exposure is more direct, without competing residency priorities. Periodic journal clubs are expected.

The fellowship is primarily aimed for those who have completed plastic surgery residency and will be board-eligible in plastic surgery. Fellows will need to obtain a Texas medical license (with our assistance), to gain some experience as an independent surgeon, and potentially transition to a full-time position with the practice.

Individual interviews are encouraged to coincide with other interviews in the city/region.

Questions and inquiries are welcome and may be sent to Dr. Law at LawMD@craniofacial.net.
