Heather Selck
NAM Specialist
Hello! My name is Heather Selck and I provide the pre-surgical orthopedics for our cleft lip and palate babies here at Sage Plastic Surgery. I am so excited to call Sage Plastic Surgery “home”! My career with cleft lip and palate started in the early 90’s and has been enriched by collaboration with incredible craniofacial surgeons over the many years and now I have the privilege of adding Dr. Law to that distinguished list. Their influence has fueled my passion and dedication to improving the lives of these little ones. Throughout my career, I have always had the approach of “thinking outside of the box” in order to create innovative devices coupled with personalized treatment plans for each patient. This approach has improved the surgical outcomes for babies born with cleft lip and palate. My unwavering goal is to provide exceptional pre-surgical care for our patients and their families.
Beyond the clinical aspects of my role, my heart is passionate about the relationships I have built with each family. It is such a privilege to walk beside these families as they begin their cleft journey and my greatest joy is that I get to be adopted as “Aunt Heather” to countless sweet souls. I love that my role includes equipping parents with the knowledge and support they need to provide essential homecare during the three and a half months they are in treatment with me. Their role goes hand in hand with mine as I carefully align and approximate the gum and nasal tissue to ensure that they are well prepared for a successful surgical outcome.
I definitely have a dream job for so many years and I am grateful for every moment of it. And I couldn’t have done it without the love and support of my best friend and husband, Paul. He has been my biggest “cheerleader” and is so excited about my joining Dr. Law’s craniofacial team. In addition to pursuing adventures, kayaking, and jewelry making, he knows that providing care for these precious cleft babies is my greatest passion!
